Hi-ho readers,

I got paid, so it’s time for another edition of Tell Me on a Friday!

Places to Go, People to See

I have eaten at a few restaurants that are new to me over the past two weeks, including Rio Kitchen and Wine in Crown Heights (highly recommend for a mellow Saturday brunch) and Nom Wah Tea Parlor. Between four people who respectively can’t eat pork, dairy, or nuts, we ate a lot of shrimp. And we got to watch a proposal outside, which was wild.

My dad and I went to a particularly lovely performance of selections from Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Temple Emanu-El last week. We are both minor Bach-heads and to do something just the two of us was delightful.

I’ve had three concerts in the past week – one was Downtown Voices’ Festival of Lessons and Carols, which you can watch online here. The others were singing backup for Andrea Bocelli (!) at two sold out shows (!!) at Madison Square Garden (!!!), which is the biggest venue I’ve ever performed at (obviously!!!). It was really a thrill and as the year draws to a close I’m so thankful that I’m able to keep music and singing in my life in such a meaningful way.

What I Read and Liked

Songs in My Heart (with playlist link) (back half of this is Christmas tunes!)

Other Business

I’m mentally preparing to host a Christmas party at my apartment in a few hours, but then I am off work for a full two weeks! I do not remember the last time I had this much vacation and I plan on doing a lot of knitting and sleeping.

See you in two,
Emily

¹ I passed.
² I’d argue the millennial version of this is Emily?
