DESCRIPTION:O Freunde! O Friends! For 15 seasons\, Camerata Notturna has been there for you — ’cause you’re there for us\, too! To celebrate\, we’ll be performing Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 9 — yes\, The One Where They Sing “Ode to Joy” — featuring an all-star cast of soloists: Met Opera stars Matthew Rose\, Meigui Zhang\, and Siphokazi Molteno\, and Washington National Opera’s Alex McKissick. We will also be joined by the amazing choir The Downtown Voices\, in residence at Trinity Wall Street. As if that weren’t enough\, we’ll also be presenting you with New York City’s very first performance of Unsuk Chin’s explosive “subito\, con forza” (2020)\, originally commissioned by the BBC and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra to commemorate Beethoven’s 250th birthday.
